TIE Advanced x1 (or for short: TIE / x1) is a multi-role space fighter from the Star Wars universe, which first appeared on the cinema screen in the 1977 movie "Star Wars" (Episode IV). The TIE Advanced x1 was a prototype machine, but was used in battle by Lord Vader during the Yavin Battles. The machine was in fact a very far-reaching modernization of the basic fighter of the Galactic Empire, the TIE Fighter. It retained the general appearance and armament, but had many changes. First of all, it received side panels of a completely different shape and inclined towards the hull of the machine. It was also longer than its ancestor. What's more, the TIE Advanced x1 also received armor, effective energy shields, as well as a hyperdrive (hyperspace drive) and an advanced navigation computer. All this significantly improved the survivability of the machine on the battlefield, but still worsened its performance and maneuverability. At the same time, the TIE Advanced x1 was characterized by significantly higher unit costs compared to TIE Fighter or TIE Interceptor, which also led to the failure to implement this project for mass production.
